Halloween 5 the revenge of michael myers part 1

However, my instant queue is nicely arranged with movie thumbnails and summaries once you click on a movie. Very nicely laid out. Now, I figured when I tried to watch a movie, either the picture quality would stink, the movie would stutterbuffer occasionally or constantly, or both. I was SHOCKED to see that the picture quality is VERY close to standard DVD might even be just about the same and NO STUTTERING or BUFFERING AT ALL, through an ENTIRE MOVIE. Now, I am one that if I am going to take the time to sit down and watch a movie the experience is basically ruined if the movie skips, stutters, buffers, etc I have watched a dozen movies and shows so far and no problems. I am truly amazed at the progress that Netflix has made with their streaming technology. Now, not all streaming was great. I actually first tried to stream GhostBusters one of the Free movies under the sony streaming site. It played okay for 15 or 20 minutes but then started buffering constantly. So that was a disappointment. Obviously there is something better about the Netflix streaming technology over the Sony streaming, be it file format, servers, or whatever. I have also watched some of the other free streaming media they have available on the player. Most of them are okay quality, usually they only use a portion of the screen unless you zoom your tv. That s okay I guess if you are just looking at internet video. Some quality was better then others, which is to be expected. Overall the other stuff is just a bonus, I can t see myself using it that much. I have not yet tried the Amazon On Demand, but I plan to. The problem with Netflix streaming is that there just aren t that many movies available. It s great when they have one you want to see since it is included as part of your membership, but there just aren t many available yet. So when you want to see a new release you have to wait for it to come to you on disk in most cases and in some cases the movies are a Long Wait like the Hangover and you just can t get it although this isn t that common with Netflix. I see that Amazon On Demand has many new releases. Of course you are renting them for 99 I think, no biggie though when you want to see a movie. I just hope that the streaming works as well as Netflix!!! As far as my internet and network. I have a cable modem that typically gets consistent speeds of 3 4 mbps. I have a 100 mbps ethernet router connected directly to a 100mbps ethernet switch behind my tv across the living room. One of the ports on the switch is connected to the the Blue Ray ethernet. If you haven t upgraded your networking equipment in a long time, I highly suggest you do so if you want streaming to work well. I have a relatively new D-Link Wireless N router though I m not using wireless for streaming and a new 5 port ethernet switch. Upgrading the networking equipment will likely make a good bit of difference in streaming. If you rent a cabledsl modem too you might want to call your company and get a new one if you have had yours for a long time. Overall this is a great player and streamer. We have owned this for under a week and love it. no more pay per view through the cable company We have a samsung 42 720 ppi TV everything looks GREAT on it. The setup of the player was easy, I was able to instantly watch netflix, fast loading, with no problems. Netflix was clear, crisp, sound was good. Blu-ray discs are amazing had to move our speakers around a little in order to appreciate the sounds. listening to the slacker radio station that loads with this machine great! If I ever have problems I may change my review, but so far, fun fun fun! I finally took the plunge went Blu Ray this Christmas.
